Raj Bhattarai, manager of the Environmental and Regulatory Services Division for the Austin (Texas) Water Utility, and Ana Peña-Tijerina, process engineer for Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility (Fort Worth, Texas), will give a joint presentation during the session titled “Recent Developments in Numeric Nutrient Criteria.”

Highlights2014July5Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) staff members took time to spread the message of the value of water and to educate about wastewater treatment. On June 10, WEF welcomed 75 middle-school students from Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy (Alexandria, Va.) to its headquarters as part of the service project “Operation H2O,” organized by the staff volunteer group, WEF Eco.

Deepika Kurup comes back to place first at national competition

Highlights2014July6Deepika Kurup may only be a sophomore at Nashua (N.H.) High School South but she already has an impressive track record for research. In 2013, Kurup was runner-up in the U.S. Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP). For the 2014 competition, she continued working on her project and it paid off.
