An MRRDC Short Course – Biofilms: Principles and Advanced Model-Based Design

Biofilm-based technologies have been used for wastewater treatment for more than 100 years. But the effectiveness and complexity of biofilm systems have increased with the development of the membrane-aerated biofilm reactor, integrated fixed-film activated sludge, and granular sludge systems. Participate in this webcast to receive an introduction to the fundamental difference between a biofilm system and a suspended growth system and to learn different approaches required for modeling . The webcast will translate fundamental knowledge of biofilms into the requirements and expectations for creating a biofilm model.
