WEF Releases Biosolids Fact Sheets

The Water Environment Federation’s (Alexandria, Va.) Residuals and Biosolids Committee has released two fact sheets created by its subcommittees. The Sustainable Residuals Use Subcommittee developed the “Phosphorus in Biosolids: How To Protect Water Quality While Advancing Biosolids” fact sheet that discusses state regulations for phosphorus and their effects on biosolids usage as well as the best biosolids management practices to reduce phosphorus losses. The Bioenergy Technology Subcommittee developed the “Thermal Oxidation” fact sheet that provides a status review of thermal oxidation as a biosolids processing technology.
