The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) offers such programs as the Stockholm Junior Water Prize, World Water Monitoring Challenge, and Work for Water resource to get students interested in the science of water and careers in the water sector. WEF showcased these programs at the third USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo, held April 26–27 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The festival, a free event hosted by Lockheed Martin (Bethesda, Md.), is designed to inspire the next generation of innovators with live stage performances and more than 3000 hands-on activities. During the event, WEF staff members shared with attendees the federation’s programs and how students can get involved.
