Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) Executive Director Jeff Eger has joined other association directors to urge the U.S. Senate to ensure adequate funding levels for the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (SRFs) in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s final fiscal year 2013 budget.

In a Nov.15 joint letter to leaders of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and the Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies, WEF expresses support for $1.466 billion for the Clean Water SRF and $918 million for the Drinking Water SRF to continue ensuring clean and safe water and to fund critical jobs. The letter also encourages the U.S. Congress to support funding for Clean Water Act Sec. 319 nonpoint source grants.
