The Water Environment Federation Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC®), has received two E.X.C.I.T.E. awards from Expo (Norwalk, Conn.).
According to Expo Magazine, the E.X.C.I.T.E. awards “represent the cutting edge in every facet of the trade show and events industry.”
WEFTEC was named “Winner in Best Application of Content/Education on the Showfloor” for its WEFTEC 2013 Operations Challenge event. It also won an honorable mention in the category of “Environmental Design” for its WEF Plaza.
The judges praised Operations Challenge, calling it a “part team-skills competition and part boot-camp obstacle course,” according to the E.X.C.I.T.E. award winners website. They said the fast-paced event “definitely has an element of a spectator sport, while at the same time teaching attendees about the skills and capabilities of waste-treatment plant operators,” the website says. The Water Environment Federation (Alexandria, Va.) received the awards during a June ceremony held in Baltimore June where all the winners and finalists were introduced.
