WEF Asks Members for Input on WIFIA Projects

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) is asking members to submit examples of major upcoming wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects that may have the opportunity to receive financing through the pilot program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA).

EPA is developing WIFIA’s program guidelines and plans to collect loan applications. To help measure and predict the demand for WIFIA loans, EPA has requested assistance from the water sector to compile examples of projects that might apply in the future.

WEF members that have a potential WIFIA project example to share can complete the brief project overview and submit the document to Steve Dye, WEF’s legislative director, at sdye@wef.org. WEF will collect these examples and share them with EPA.
