The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) joined other water sector organizations in sending a letter asking U.S. Congress to support the National Priorities Water Research program.

The letter, addressed to members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies, requests that grant program funding be increased to $20 million for fiscal year 2019. This would support transformative research approaches that enable the water sector to respond to current and future challenges.

WEF members can write to members of Congress about the need to increase research and development funding through the Water Advocates program.
