Three Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) members have been named as founding members of the Imagine H2O (San Francisco) Scientific Advisory Council. The council will work to enhance the organization’s efforts to identify and support innovations to solve the world’s water challenges, according to an Imagine H2O news release.

WEF members Kartik Chandran, director of the Columbia University (New York) Biomolecular Environmental Sciences Program and a member of WEF’s Board of Trustees; Perry McCarty, Silas H. Palmer Professor Emeritus at Stanford (Calif.) University and a member of WEF’s Awards and Recognitions committee; and Rengarajan Ramesh, managing director of Wasserstein & Co. (New York) and the council’s chairman, join seven other water industry leaders on the council.

University; Manian Ramesh, former chief technology officer of water and energy services at Nalco Co. (Naperville, Ill.); Philip Rolchigo, vice president of technology at Pentair (Minneapolis); Carl Rush, former senior vice president at Waste Management (Houston); and Thomas Stanley, chief technology officer at GE Water and Process Technologies (Trevose, Pa.), the news release says.
