Sponsor eShowcase: Pressure Is Building for Thermal Hydrolysis of Sewage Sludge

CAMBI (Skysstasjon, Norway) sponsors this eShowcase that will provide a technical review, share operating data, and describe the economic benefits of the thermal hydrolysis process (THP). The process uses steam and pressure to heat solids, intensifying aerobic digestion. It produces Class A biosolids, increases digester gas, and improves dewatering.

The DC Water (Washington, D.C.) Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant commissioned the first THP system in the United States in October 2015. It has cut biosolids land-application volume in half, resulting in annual savings of $10 million. Learn more about this and other case studies in the eShowcase.
