Water professionals can learn about the technology behind and the regulation involved in recovering energy, nutrients, heat, and other resources from wastewater at Water and Energy 2015: Opportunities for Energy and Resource Recovery in the Changing World. The conference and exhibition takes place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., June 8–10. The Water Environment Federation (Alexandria, Va.) is organizing the event jointly with the European Water Association (Hennef, Germany) and Japan Sewage Works Association (Tokyo).
With 17 technical sessions and three workshops featuring such titles as “Addressing Climate Change” and “Utilities and Climate Change,” attendees also will learn about the challenges climate change can pose to utilities while also offering new opportunities for resource recovery.
