If you are unable to attend WEFTEC® 2013 or you want to take the learning experience home with you, the Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) is offering an online sampling of the conference.

WEF will stream two of the conference’s most highly anticipated sessions live from Chicago. On Oct. 7, watch the Opening General Session featuring keynote speaker, Kevin Carroll, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. (CST), and then watch water leaders discuss innovative water communities during the session, Water Thought Leaders: The Future of Cities and Water, from 10:30 a.m. to noon (CST). Find links to the live streaming events on the WEFTEC home page.

Those who want to take the experience home with them can purchase WEFTEC On Demand. Through a new hybrid format, those unable to attend sessions can watch them live and ask the speakers questions using a chat feature, and anyone can watch the sessions after WEFTEC. Purchase WEFTEC On Demand at $30 for members or $45 for nonmembers to experience the following sessions, either live on Oct. 8 or after the conference:

  • Technical Session 305, Going for the Goal: Targeting Energy Optimization and Neutrality, 8:30 a.m. to noon (CST);
  • Technical Session 425, Communicating With Elected Officials About Rate Increases To Support Major Infrastructure Improvements, 1:30 to 3 p.m. (CST); and
  • Technical Session 429, Creating Meaningful Dialog To Support Green Infrastructure, 3:30 to 5 p.m. (CST).
