Water for Jobs Water Infrastructure Summit Set for April 16

The Water for Jobs partnership is hosting a free 2-hour media event featuring well-known speakers and experts that will bring national attention to the need to reinvest in U.S. water infrastructure. The Water Infrastructure Summit will take place April 16 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Rotunda Room of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

The summit will be held to raise awareness about the current state of U.S. water infrastructure and the growing funding gap, and to make the business case for investment as a job creator and as necessary to protect public health.

The United States has slipped to 25th in the world with regard to the quality of overall infrastructure, according to The Global Competitiveness Report 2012–2013 published by the World Economic Forum (New York). The summit will demonstrate that water infrastructure is fundamental to the U.S. economy, health, and quality of life and that it must be made a top national priority.
