Illustrated Guide to Wastewater Biology Now Available

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) released the new edition of this book as an easy-to-use guide to the biological aspects of wastewater treatment. It explores the organisms considered the most important in wastewater treatment and disease transmission and provides information needed to regulate and control treatment processes.

The book is illustrated and provides 13 color plates to assist in identifying microlife. In addition to detailed information on bacteria, protozoa, rotifers, filamentous organisms, pathogens, parasites, nematodes and other metazoan, it discusses the microscope, photomicroscopy, and other tools for examining these life forms.
