Moving Toward Water Resource Recovery Facilities Publication Is Available

WEF Publication- Resource Recovery CoverResource recovery is an emerging societal need globally. Due to the ever-increasing pressures on progressively limited resources such as water, nutrients, and energy, it is critical to recover these resources from wastestreams. The Water Environment Federation (Alexandria, Va.) released Moving Toward Resource Recovery Facilities, a peer-reviewed publication about moving away from wastestreams and moving toward “values streams.” It provides an overview of the fundamental drivers for resource recovery from wastewater and presents the basic case for resource recovery.

The publication provides an overview of state-of-the-art technological approaches to resource recovery and general guidance on the applicability of recovery technologies for the cross-section of facility types. This enables facilities to take steps toward recycling a greater number of otherwise lost resources.
