Nominations Open for 2020 Volunteer Service Recognition Program

April 24, 2020

Volunteers are invaluable to nonprofit success. During National Volunteer Week, ensure the star of your group gets the recognition they deserve.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Virginia) will recognize exceptional members who volunteer their time and energy to enhance WEF programs and initiatives. WEF is now accepting nominations for its 2020 Volunteer Service Recognition program through June 30.

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Virginia) is now accepting nominations for its 2020 Volunteer Service Recognition Program. Nominate an outstanding member who serves on a WEF committee or on the WEF House of Delegates by June 30. Up to 15 recipients, recognized at WEFTEC 2020, will receive a volunteer service recognition pin.

Nominees must play an active role in either a WEF committee or the WEF House of Delegates to be eligible for recognition. They must also have been a WEF member for at least 5 years.

“From the experienced committee chair to the young water professional joining a workgroup for the first time, passionate volunteers at all levels drive WEF’s success,” said Walt Marlowe, WEF Executive Director. “WEF is excited to recognize key volunteers who donate their time to help make our organization a better professional resource.”

WEF will select up to 15 recipients (12 from committees and three from the House of Delegates) based on outstanding leadership or significant contributions to WEF initiatives and goals. This could include:

  • providing valuable perspectives while working on a committee, subcommittee, workgroup, or task force;
  • leading collaborative efforts between committees to deliver better outcomes; or
  • demonstrating exceptional mentorship or support for other water professionals.

Awardees will be notified by August 30. At WEFTEC 2020, they will be recognized and presented with a unique WEF Volunteer Service Recognition Pin.

Nominate an outstanding WEF volunteer online — or by contacting your committee leadership — by June 30. See past recipients of the Volunteer Service Recognition award at the WEF website.
