Research can provide the key to finding practical solutions that respond to challenges facing the wastewater and stormwater industries, and the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF; Alexandria, Va.) wants to fund this research.

WERF is accepting preproposals for its 2013 Unsolicited Research Program on topics consistent with efforts to advance science and technology addressing water quality issues as they affect water resources, the atmosphere, land, and quality of life. Through the program, WERF funds projects that help transform understanding of water resources, the ability to protect and preserve these resources, and efforts to minimize human effects on the environment.

Submissions are due by 5 p.m. EDT, July 10.

For more information, contact Amit Pramanik, WERF senior program director, at (571) 384-2101 or apramanik@werf.org. Learn more details about this and other WERF funding opportunities at http://www.werf.org/a/o/Funding.aspx.
