The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) joined eight other water sector and municipal associations to ask Congress to fully fund four infrastructure-financing programs.

On Oct. 27, the organizations sent a letter to the leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Interior and Environment. The letter asks Congress to fund the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund programs, the Water Infrastructure Finance Innovation Act, and the Bureau of Reclamation’s Title XVI program, which funds reuse projects in western states. The letter coincides with a WEF Water Advocates call-to-action that asks members to write representatives in Congress in support of funding for these programs as the fiscal year 2017 budget is finalized.
