WEF Joins in Encouraging Congress To Preserve Funding for Farm Bill

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) continues to support funding for the 2018 Farm Bill.

On May 4, WEF joined many other organizations in requesting that the U.S. Congress fully fund Title II, the Conservation Title, in the next Farm Bill reauthorization. The letter was sent to U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.).

“Over the years, conservation programs have become important, reliable tools for farmers and ranchers as they strive to make good management decisions on their land and water. Evidence of their broad popularity is demonstrated by the fact that unmet demand for these programs is at an all-time high,” the letter says.
