During the coronavirus pandemic, much of the water-sector workforce is working longer hours with smaller operations teams, placing unprecedented pressures on their individual skills and experiences. At the same time, many water professionals are spending more time at home due to social-distancing requirements, providing a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge base and develop as professionals.
Valid until June 30, 2020, the Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Virginia) is offering free, temporary e-WEF memberships to water professionals interested in taking advantage of the organization’s diverse array of technical and educational offerings. The offer extends to any individual who has never been a WEF member.
“In these uncertain times, lack of access to information should not keep water professionals from meeting the needs of their communities to the best of their ability,” said Camille Sanders, WEF Director of Membership. “WEF encourages current members to share this free, temporary membership offer with friends and colleagues to help your organization stay informed during the coronavirus pandemic.”
e-WEF members enjoy access to a range of published technical materials normally available only to WEF members. Available information covers virtually all segments of the water environment profession, providing in-depth, sector-leading guidance on such topics as wastewater treatment, utility leadership, stormwater management, collection systems, and resource recovery.
Specifically, e-WEF membership includes access to
- the digital edition of Water Environment & Technology magazine, WEF’s premier monthly publication covering water-sector news and trends;
- Water Environment Research, WEF’s peer-reviewed research journal;
- members-only materials and pricing available on Access Water, WEF’s newest content platform;
- daily digests of sector-specific news through WEF SmartBrief;
- a range of upcoming and archived WEF webcasts; and
- up to 20% off the regular price of published technical manuals, online courses, and other educational opportunities available via the WEF Knowledge Center.
The temporary membership does not include enrollment with a state or regional WEF Member Association, voting rights for WEF elections, or members-only pricing for in-person events.
