Those looking for a comprehensive reference of the current design and operational practices to manage wet weather flows now can access the Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) special publication, Wet Weather Design and Operation in Water Resource Recovery Facilities.
It is a companion to WEF’s Manual of Practice (MOP) 8, Design of Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants. The new publication focuses on providing a wet weather flow management perspective to the subject matter previously covered by the design practitioner resource. It goes beyond MOP 8 by including operational-oriented considerations related to wet weather events. It includes 16 chapters that are grouped around planning and configuration for wet weather events in water resource recovery facilities and facility processes.
