WEF Revitalizes WEFTEC Abstract Submissions

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) has introduced a new and improved system to submit abstracts for WEFTEC®. Now, interested presenters can submit abstracts according to theme, topic, and focus area.

For WEFTEC 2013, 13 broad themes will highlight areas of emphasis for the conference. Submissions under each theme are categorized into 24 topics and further defined under 12 focus areas.

The process is designed to simplify the submission process, focus the majority of the conference’s technical content to the key themes, and ultimately direct attendees to the sessions that best meet their needs. This new system also enables the conference’s programming to be more timely, flexible, and able to serve attendees.

“WEFTEC attendees should only see the improvement in quality of the podium presentations, workshops, posters, and invited sessions,” said Susan Merther, WEFTEC program director. “The new direction will empower each symposium to determine the main focus of their discipline and request that abstracts be submitted that pertain to the theme while continuing to receive general topic abstracts.”

The 2013 WEFTEC Call For Abstracts is open now.
