WEFTEC® 2015, held Sept. 26–30 at McCormick Place in Chicago, has become the largest and most successful of the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF’s; Alexandria, Va.) annual technical exhibition and conferences. The event set records with 25,048 registrants and an exhibition with 1033 companies using 28,948 m2 (311,600 net ft2) of space.

Apologies from WEF Executive Director

I want to offer a personal apology to everyone affected by the registration delays on Monday morning at WEFTEC. We strive to provide great customer service and deeply regret the delays. That certainly did not meet the standards to which we aspire.

We value the ongoing support of our customers that helped make this the biggest WEFTEC ever. Your time is valuable and we are grateful that so many elected to spend time with us in Chicago. While we appreciate the patience exhibited by so many, please be assured that we are reviewing our registration procedures, equipment, and configuration and taking steps to help ensure that delays do not happen again.

I hope to see you in New Orleans!

“For more than 80 years, WEFTEC has been the world’s leading forum for water quality management,” said WEF Executive Director Eileen O’Neill. “It’s the place to innovate, exchange knowledge, and connect with experts from across the continent, and around the world. The record-breaking success of this year’s event is a testament to the value, diversity, and depth for which WEFTEC is known and respected.” Planning for the next WEFTEC is underway. A total of 27,406 m2 (295,000 ft2) of exhibition space already has been reserved and abstracts for presentations will be accepted through Dec. 1.

WEFTEC 2016 will be held Sept. 24–28 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. Registration and housing will open in spring 2016.
