Water Quality Advocate Says “It’s Time to Put Water First”

Heather Himmelberger, director of the Southwest Environmental Finance Center at the University of New Mexico (Albuquerque), recently presented at TEDxABQ, an individually organized TED event in Albuquerque, N.M. Himmelberger spoke about finding better ways to manage and pay for public water systems. She sees upcoming water quality, quantity, and infrastructure issues as an opportunity to invest in a sustainable water future and choose to put water first.

Himmelberger is an engineer with more than 27 years of experience working with water and the environmental arena and has provided more than 100 trainings regarding water issues. She also is a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Financial Advisory Board.
