DC Water Video Showcases National Green Infrastructure Program

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) and DC Water (Washington, D.C.) launched the National Green Infrastructure Certification Program (NGICP) in 2016. The first NGICP certifications were awarded in January 2017.

DC Water showcases the importance of green infrastructure and the training to build this infrastructure in a new video.  “This is an incredible people project,” said George Hawkins, general manager and CEO of DC Water, in the video. Municipalities across the country have joined to help create NGICP, ensuring that trainees gain transferable skills that can be recognized anywhere in the nation.

In the video, trainees discuss the importance of the education they receive and the opportunity to enter the workforce with the skills they are developing. Watch the video below to learn more about the program.
