Use the Water Palooza Toolkit to Educate about Water

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) provides members with a new tool to spread the word about the value of water. The Water Palooza Toolkit is a collection of simple, hands-on activities that water professionals can take to schools and other venues to educate children about water.

The online document provides descriptions of educational, water-focused activities inspired by WEF’s Water Palooza event, held in conjunction with the annual community service project at WEFTEC. Each description provides all the information needed to plan and execute fun, student-tested outreach including a list of the materials, volunteers, and steps to take to facilitate the activity. These activities, aimed to engage students in grades 1 through 5, can be done in classrooms, at environmental festivals, at utility open-houses, or during other community events.
