WEF Pavilions Feature Brief Presentations

Educational opportunities at WEFTEC® 2013 extend beyond the nearly 150 sessions in the conference program. Brief presentations in the Stormwater and Innovation pavilions also will be a part of the experience.

In addition to industry-leading companies, both pavilions will contain theaters and feature an array of brief interactive programming, from focusing on trivia to meeting the speaker to a technology showcase.

Stormwater Pavilion

This year’s Stormwater Congress will be co-located with WEFTEC 2013 Oct. 5 to 9 in Chicago. The focal point of the Stormwater Congress in the WEFTEC exhibit hall will be the Stormwater Pavilion (Booth 5217). This gives attendees access not only to stormwater programming but also to content and exhibits encompassing the entire water sector.

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) has created a program for the theater that covers a variety of topics, including user-fee-funded stormwater utilities, innovation award-winning products, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Campus RainWorks Challenge and Stormwater Calculator, and a year in review. WEF representatives also will be available to discuss the organization’s stormwater program; and WEF stormwater publications will be available.

The Innovation Pavilion debuted at WEFTEC 2012 and is back for its second year (at Booth 775) with innovation partners Imagine H2O (San Francisco) and BlueTech Research (Vancouver, British Columbia).

Visitors can attend discussions on water-innovation clusters, facilitating innovation, accelerator programs, and the Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology, which is a joint venture of WEF and the Water Environment Research Foundation (Alexandria). Visitors also will hear from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (Seattle) about reinventing the toilet, and be able to join WEF for the Charting New Waters Reception sponsored by The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread (Racine, Wis.).

Innovation award winners will be presenting and have booth space in the pavilion. Additional topics covered include biosolids innovation, engineering for international development, nutrient recovery, and energy efficiency.

Both pavilions will be open during exhibit hall hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the Stormwater Pavilion at Booth 5217 and the Innovation Pavilion at Booth 775.
