WEF Webcast Describes Regulatory Trends Across the U.S.

July 25, 2018

Laws & Regs

The Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) Government Affairs Committee tracks water-related legislation. On June 28, its Member Association Subcommittee hosted a webcast to inform members about regulatory trends.

During the “Linking Member Associations with Important Federal Policies and Local Trends” webcast, panelists from different regions of the U.S. shared information about local regulations and efforts to respond to these regulations. Presentations revealed that different regions have similar concerns, but they use different regulatory approaches to address legislation. Topics repeatedly mentioned include

  • perfluoro-octane sulfonate (PFOS)/perfluoro-octanoic acid (PFOA),
  • blending,
  • integrated planning,
  • cooperative federalism, and
  • hydrologic connection.

A recording of the webcast as well as supporting materials are available online.
